Be warned: My artistic skills mainly consist of stick people and smiley faces. Any tips on making, you know, decent art would be greatly appreciated, especially as this is my first. Oh, and it's way blurrier than it's supposed to be, so help with that.... Yeah. I don't know what I'm doing.

Many years ago I created a DGC (first book only) fan game, is anyone interested in helping me host it?

Also interested in anyone that might be interested in helping me create games based on the other books as well.

One of the forum administrators for the Margaret Weis Productions forums wrote in December:

"It is definitely our intention to do something with the Death Gate Cycle. It won't be for 2008, but stick around. It's on our collective plates and it will make its way onto the production schedule before too long!"

Last week, Tracy Hickman himself wrote on his forums about if a DGC RPG is still a possibility and how busy they currently are:

"This is true: we are working hard on our upcoming 'Dragonships' series which will include a number of different games. This is still on the table, however."

Looking like a good possibility, isn't it?

I was checking some Google results for words someone used to find my site, and I surprisingly turned up that someone called randomcommoner on YouTube made videos out of Death Gate cutscenes. Since the old Through the Gate went *boom* earlier this year, and nobody adopted it or made another one, I broke down and applied, and got approved. I finished getting the important parts up today. So, if you're into the fanlisting thing, go hit The Death Gate Nexus. I might put the icons I made for y'all up there in "Extras" sometime, maybe make some more eventually.

My wrist hates me for doing this right after NaNoing, so that's all I got to write for tonight.

I'm determined to get this community semi-active, darnit. Here's another post for y'all.

The Fan History Wiki, a project to document the history of fan fiction/fandom communities, recently started an article for The Death Gate Cycle. I've added more information to get it going, but I thought y'all might like to know about it to at least have a read-- hopefully to contribute some edits, too! If you're not comfortable with Wiki format, you could always discuss it over here and someone can assist with getting the info up.

Something else of interest: the Keith Parkinson store is now offering a giclee print of the cover for The Hand of Chaos. It's priced at $385.00; you can get a lower-quality poster print of it or Fire Sea for $20. Check it out. I can safely say it's my favorite painting (and I don't just mean DGC painting but favorite period) so I'm probably going to break down and dig up the money for the giclee.

Hello hello! Quiet in here as usual, eh? It's time again for one of my mostly-about-me posts!

• Site updated with the proofs to publication comparison for The Seventh Gate proofs I got back in January. (And I freshened the site colors, but that's not a content update.) Hope y'all will enjoy seeing what was changed! Most notably, the climax was reordered in the print version, and the proofs also provided more "reaction shot" type moment. There's also more characterization of Ramu and Balthazar, including some amusing moments that were cut in print.
  
  
• If you haven't seen, Tracy Hickman's DragonHearth forums include a DGC board which he very occasionally pops in at.
  
  
• The DGC wiki article, the seven book articles, and the game article all need more development, especially in the way of citations to make the articles more research-respectable. If you can help, please do!
  
  
• I'm in an odd mood to make some DG icons from the game screenshots, but I'm not sure what to make. So, if you should have any requests for a character/shot to feature, maybe a quote you'd like, I'll see what I can do. The world needs more DG! :P And speaking of quotes...

Hi, um, new here? I simply have a question...

I remember that a couple of years ago, I was looking at a Death Gate site. In my memories, I thought it was Tracy Hickman's site, but it's not anymore, and I could have been wrong that it ever was. It was black with radiating circles or somesuch, and had a lot of fancy graphic design... Anyway, I remember that it had a lot of worldbuilding stuff, and was fascinating. Like a fool, I didn't save any of this on my hard drive, but I would really love to find that site again. Does anyone remember this site, or know what I'm talking about? (Or whether any of the information is still available anywhere online?)
